Teens, how you react to this statement about sex: They're going to do anyway?

The context is that several commentators, political, social workers, etc. in response to rising teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases and all the ills that follow (for example, a talkshow radio phone-in), usually a "well-meaning" the spokesman said some charity or a government agency, says something like: "Well, we all know that teens have sex, we just have to educate them ……." and then go into the different policies, programs, studies, etc. How do adolescents react to that??? just reacting to a news story that I saw yesterday in "sexting" http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090804/tuk-warning- a-father-in-sixth-message-45dbed5.html. PD: I have horrible details, and I'm not in this for all the kicks, but I want some honest opinions of those in the middle of this debate. Thanks for their comments. BM

I so agree with this statement. Not only teenagers, but the time people do what they want to do. I think if the people to educate adolescents about sexuality, as they say the consequences and effects and the history of other children who have sex although they own decision. If you just to tell your son, not of bad quality, then they will rebel and see what is bad for himself. Teenagers like to learn by themselves, even if it means learning the hard way. Im 17 and I lost my ex boyfriend viginity when I was 15 my mother told me that the consequences and what could happen and do not and I did anyway. Initially I was sorry, but I learned my lesson. Ultimately if you educate teens if they make that decision, reflected twice and is likely to protect themselves if they do.
