The latest addition to the Sony Ericsson Walkman series is the Sony Ericsson W700, which has a close resemblance to the popular SE W800 model. The main difference between the new SE W700 and the SE W800 is the smaller memory card that comes with the W700. The W700 comes in with a 256MB card as against the 512MB of the W800. The SE W700 has 2MP camera, but unlike the W800, has no auto focus.

The Sony Ericsson W700, which is the 8th addition to the Walkman series, has the following specifications:

  SE W700
Weight 99

Display Type TFT 256K
Display Size (pixels) 176 x 220
Camera / Video 2 MP
QWERTY Keyb No
Memory (Internal) 34 MB
Card Slot Mem Stick Duo (256MB incl.)
GPRS Yes
Infrared Yes
USB Yes
Bluetooth Yes
WLAN No
EDGE No
3G No
Media Player MP3/AAC
FM Stereo With RDS
Browser WAP 2.0/xHTML
Office Apps No
Messaging SMS, EMS, MMS, Email, IM
Vibration Yes
Ringtones Polyphonic (40 Ch) + MP3
Form Factor Bar

The W700 comes supplied with high quality headset that plugs into a standard connector, so you can connect a favourite headset of your own if you wish. There are also a full range of plug-in music accessories from small portable speakers to car systems available.

Music management couldn’t be simpler. All the software and cables you need to rip CDs to your PC and transfer them to the phone are included in the box.

Comments
The W800 and the W700 is basically the same phone, the difference only being in the design, change of name and size of memory card that comes with the phone.

The 256MB memory card included in the phone is just too small and will become useless to the owner as music lovers need more space on their phones.

The orange or white colours of the Sony Ericsson Walkmans sometimes are turn-offs for many guys. A solid black colour like the SE W810 will be more appealing to men.
